did you know that
                         lightning is caused by
                                      the negative particles
                                                    (the glass is always half empty)
                                                                 sinking to the bottom
                                                    (of the bottle)
                         the positive particles react
          (invite him over to “just talk”)
and a spark occurs
             (it was a one night thing)
                          just like that
                                      (he knew)
                                                   it disappears

 

Alyssa Harmon is currently working on two collections of poetry that she hopes to publish some day. She will be graduating with her English degree in May. Alyssa has had poems published in several magazines and journals including the Merrimack Review, 30 N, Minerva Rising, The Wild Word Magazine, and Odet Journal.
